That year, the author also released three novels from his ‘Big Dog & Little Dog’ series, namely 'Big Dog and Little Dog', 'Big Dog and Little Dog Going for a Walk ', and 'Big Dog and Little Dog Getting in Trouble.' He followed these with ‘Big Dog and Little Dog Wearing Sweaters’ and ‘Big Dog and Little Dog Making a Mistake’ which were published in 19, respectively. The novel became an instant hit with kids across America. He released the first novel in the ‘Captain Underpants’ series, titled 'The Adventures of Captain Underpants '. The year 1997 boosted Pilkey’s writing career. He next came up with an installment of the ‘Dumb Bunnies’ series called 'Make Way for Dumb Bunnies' which published in 1996. The following year, he released 'The Hallo-Wiener', a children’s book employing Oscar the Dachshund as the main character. In 1994, Pilkey started his ‘Dumb Bunnies’ book series with the first book of the series 'The Dumb Bunnies'. This was followed by the sequels 'Dragon Gets By', 'Dragon's Fat Cat', and 'Dragon's Halloween' which were published in the subsequent years. Then in 1990, he released the first book of his “Dragon” book series, titled 'A Friend for Dragon'. A year later, he illustrated ‘Don't Pop Your Cork on Mondays’. It won a national competition for student authors and was published in 1987. Dav Pilkey wrote his first book titled ‘World War Won’ as a student.
